Chelsea defender Khalid Boulahrouz will spent the whole of next season on loan at Sevilla.

Boulahrouz did not travel with the rest of the Chelsea squad on the pre-season trip to Los Angeles and will now look for a better season in La Liga.

The Dutchman didn’t enjoy the best of first seasons in the Premiership, most notably when Robbie Keane put him on his backside with a dozen or so stepovers in the 2-1 defeat to Spurs.

It was thought that Boulahrouz, who cost Chelsea £7.5million would have joined the UEFA Cup champions on a permanent deal.

“Chelsea Football Club and Sevilla have reached agreement for the one year loan of Khalid Boulahrouz,” said a statement on the club’s official website.
